how to prioritize devices on wifi
If you'd like to prioritize the wireless networks your Mechanical man devices connect to, Jack Wallen has found just the app you need.
Since the COVID-19 pandemic hit, I have three different networks in my house--uncomparable for work, one for internal, and one as a backup. The thing is, Android isn't always smart enough to know which wireless network I prioritize. One would think a feature like this would be baked into the Android platform. It's not.
In order to make that work to my liking, I use an app named WiFi Prioritizer. With this loose application, I can set the exact priority I pauperism for my base network and equal temporarily disable networks that I get into't want the phone to use.
So if you're looking for the power to prioritise your networks in Android, this app might be just what you need.
Let's install it and see how it works.

What you'll need
The only thing you'll deman is a device running Android--a phone or a tablet.
How to install WiFi Prioritizer
The installation of WiFi Prioritizer is quite simple. Scarce follow these steps:
- Open the Google Play Store on your Humanoid device.
- Search for WLAN Prioritizer.
- Water tap the entry by Robert Botha.
- Tap Install.
- Allow the installation to complete.
With the app installed, locate the launcher in your App Drawer and tap it to open Wireless local area network Prioritizer.
How to enjoyment WiFi Prioritizer
When WiFi Prioritizer opens, you should attend entirely of the wireless networks your device has connected to (Estimate A).

WiF Prioritizer lists out all the networks I use.
You can incapacitate a specific network from existence prioritized by tapping its associated checkbox, so make sure to do that in fiat to forestall those networks from beingness advised.
To prioritize a network, tap and hold the cart button (the small squarish of dots) and settle it to where you want information technology in the hierarchy. For example, if you have NetworkA and it's your upper side priority, drag it to the top of the inning of the list. Place all of the other networks in the order you desire them used.
Make a point Enable Scheduled Job (at the top of the window) is Enabled, which allows the app to run a regular job to periodically scan for new networks and prioritize accordingly.
How to configure the single strength tipping point
Within the Settings, there's an option that allows you to set the signal strength that will trip a disconnect from a network. What this does is set a low-relegate percentage that will crusade the app to automatically switch to a high priority network that has a higher signal strength. In effect, you can prioritize your networks and then set a signal strength tipping point that will make sure that your device is always wired to the network in your list that non only prioritized, but has the highest signal strength.
This feature is great when you process or live in a larger building and signal strength is an publication.
To coif the signal strength, tapdance the menu clitoris in the top-right nook of the main windowpane and tap Settings. In the resulting window, tap Signal Strength To Connect (Figure B).

Draw the palm to the percentage you wishing to set. By default it's 30%, but you might want to raise that, if you want to assure you always have a connectedness that has a high signaling strength. For instance, say you put on't want to be exploitation a signal that's to a lesser degree 50%. For that, drag the plow to 50% and click All right (Figure C).

That's pretty much the gist of using WiFi Prioritizer to prioritize the wireless networks your Android twist connects to. This feature should be a office of the alkaline Android platform--maybe someday it will be. Until and then, give this app a try and see if it doesn't help you e'er join to the outside wireless network.
